Who We Are

The Pueblo of Zia has operated a contemporary court since 2007. It is a court of general jurisdiction and oversees criminal and civil hearings. Currently the Court staff consists of a Chief Judge (part-time), a court clerk and a part time probation officer. Probationers are also supervised by Sandoval County. The Pueblo of Zia Social Services and Five Sandoval Indian Pueblos, Inc. provide counseling and other services to those referred by the Court. Hearings are held two days a week at the Pueblo of Zia Court.

Mission and Goal

The Pueblo of Zia Court serves the Pueblo of Zia and neighboring communities in providing judicial services in criminal and civil matters, as well as visitors to the Pueblo of Zia.  The Court staff strives to develop a self-sustaining tribal court that supports the larger Pueblo of Zia goal to develop, improve and impact the community in a positive manner.
