The Pueblo of Zia Department of Education strives to provide enriching programs for children and the greater community, that assist with the essential tools and skills needed to support Self-Advocacy of Zia Identity, Zia Language Preservation, the safe-guarding of Culture and Tradition and exploration of different perspectives all through the lens of respect.

MISSION

The Pueblo of Zia Education Department’s mission is to provide resources that support the learning aspirations of the T’siya community, while maintaining the language and culture through a balanced and comprehensive approach.

STATEMENT

We are committed to providing positive emotional encouragement and support that promotes personal growth, enrichment, empowerment, self-esteem and pride in our cultural heritage, economic independence and self-sufficiency. We will work with the community to provide educational pathways and to create a more positive environment for life-long learning.

The Education Department administers various education, employment and training programs. The Education Department administers several federal grants which include the Johnson O’Malley, Adult Education, Higher Education, Individuals with Disabilities Act and the Connection Program.
